Job summary

Ambercare – an Addus family company urgently seeks Home Care Aides (HCAs) to support seniors and disabled clients at home across New Mexico. The HCA Core role is on-call five days per week, with one weekend day, totaling 40 hours weekly, with 20 hours guaranteed.

Responsibilities include follow-up on care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep and transportation to appointments. Must be 18+, pass a background check, and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Five days per week with at least one weekend day
• Forty hours per week; 20 hours guaranteed
• On-call for 24-hour shifts
• Must be 18 years of age
• Criminal background check required
• Reliable transportation with driver’s license and proof of insurance if driving
• Nurturing, compassionate, able to work with limited supervision
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized

Responsibilities

• Call into the office every morning for assignment
• Follow care plans and report completed tasks
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Provide or assist with routine house cleaning, meal preparation and laundry
• Transport client to doctor's appointments, grocery store and other errands
• Assist client with self-administration of medications
• Observe and report changes in client condition
