Amentum, supporting USCIS ASC operations in Portland, OR, offers a casual on-call Biometric Technician role. You’ll assist with biometric processing, crowd control, and customer service for applicants with flexible hours.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, English proficiency, and the ability to stand for shifts. This on-call position does not guarantee regular hours, but provides exposure to government operations and biometrics workflows while safeguarding sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US citizenship required for credentials at this location.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak and write in English.
• Ability to stand upright for shift duration.
• Ability to hold and grasp fingerprints.
• Able to work in a high-paced environment with the public.
• Ability to type and use basic computer skills.
• Successful completion of biometrics training within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking lawful immigration.
• Ensure entrants are approved applicants; provide crowd control and enforce ASC policies.
• Provide front-line customer service as a representative of Amentum and the US Government.
• Perform quality biometrics processing: fingerprints, photographs, signatures.
• Screen applicants with valid appointment notices and IDs.
• Use barriers to maintain safe, organized entry into the facility.
• Inspect belongings and ask health-related questions during health crises.
• Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Assist in calling local law enforcement or first responders when needed.
• Maintain administrative paperwork: processing times, biometrics reconciliation, visitor log, and checks.
