Job summary

RIDECARE Inc seeks a Transport Driver to move clients to care facilities and support staff in a mental health setting. You’ll be the primary in-person contact, handling routes, documentation, and safety checks with dispatchers.

You will drive, log hours, maintain the vehicle, and interact professionally with facility staff, clients, and families, while ensuring timely, secure transports and accurate Samsara data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 26 years or older as condition of employment.
• Excellent driving record and valid driver's license.
• Proficient in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Long- and short-distance driving, coordinating routes with dispatchers.
• Retrieve and secure clients and belongings for trips.
• Maintain logs of hours and miles, per policy.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, and violations promptly.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
• Interact professionally with staff, clients, and family members.
• Enter data into Samsara system and submit reports monthly.
• Collaborate with Directors and Field Supervisors on contacts.
• Strive to reduce transport arrival times while maintaining safety.

# Omaha Transport DriverFully Remote • Omaha - Omaha, NE 68136## OverviewPosition TypeFull Time## DescriptionThe Transport Driver plays a key role in our work of transporting clients to needed care within and outside our contracted area. They are often the only in-person representative of the company, providing excellent customer service to facility staff, clients and family members in a mental health setting.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Long- and short-distance driving, coordinating routes and schedules with dispatchers.* Retrieve and secure clients and personal belongings for trip to destination facility.* Maintain detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and company policies, submitting monthly to Field Supervisor.* Ensure mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected promptly, reporting defects, accidents, and violations immediately.* Perform daily maintenance of vehicle (refueling, cleaning, snacks/water, etc.)* Interact with facility staff, clients, and family members in a professional manner.* Address problems and create solutions, collaborating with Dispatcher and elevating problems to Field Supervisor when necessary.* Enter data into Samsara system, maintain logs of calls, incidents, miles driven and more, submitting reports monthly to Field Supervisor.* Work collaboratively with Director of Operations and Field Supervisors to update and maintain a list of facility contacts.* Drive excellence by creating efficiencies that will reduce the arrival time for transports (under the 2-hour maximum). Report all overages to Field Supervisor.## Qualifications* High school diploma or equivalent.* 26 years or older.* Excellent driving record.* Valid driver's license.* Proficient in English (oral and written); active listener.* Tech-savvy, good typing skills, and experience with data entry.* Ability to work nights, weekends with flexible hours as needed.* Operate in highly stressful situations from both internal and external sources, adapting and making decisions as needed.* Ability to multi-task, interpreting on-going problems and suggesting possible solutions.* Prior law enforcement, military, dispatch, logistics or mental health experience helpful, but not required.
