Job summary

RIDECARE Inc. seeks a Transport Driver to support client mobility in and around Oklahoma City. You will handle long- and short-distance trips, coordinate with dispatch, and ensure safe client handling and data accuracy.

You will work nights and weekends with flexible hours, maintaining logs and reporting issues promptly. This role requires a clean driving record, a valid license, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be 26 years or older.
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).
  • Tech-savvy with good typing and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends with flexible hours.
  • Experience in law enforcement, military, dispatch, logistics or mental health is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive long- and short-distance routes, coordinating with dispatchers.
  • Retrieve and secure clients and belongings for trips to destinations.
  • Maintain detailed hours logs per state and company policy; submit monthly.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, and violations promptly.
  • Perform daily vehicle maintenance (refueling, cleaning, snacks/water).
  • Interact professionally with facility staff, clients and families.
  • Address problems and propose solutions; escalate to Field Supervisor as needed.
  • Enter data into Samsara system and maintain call/incidents/miles logs.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Supervisors to keep facility contacts updated.
  • Improve transport efficiency to reduce arrival times (under 2 hours) and report overages.

Job Location: OKC Driver - OKLAHOMA CITY, OK

Position Type: Full Time

The Transport Driver plays a key role in our work of transporting clients to needed care within and outside our contracted area. They are often the only in-person representative of the company, providing excellent customer service to facility staff, clients and family members in a mental health setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Long- and short-distance driving, coordinating routes and schedules with dispatchers.
  • Retrieve and secure clients and personal belongings for trip to destination facility.
  • Maintain detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and company policies, submitting monthly to Field Supervisor.
  • Ensure mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected promptly, reporting defects, accidents, and violations immediately.
  • Perform daily maintenance of vehicle (refueling, cleaning, snacks/water, etc.)
  • Interact with facility staff, clients, and family members in a professional manner.
  • Address problems and create solutions, collaborating with Dispatcher and elevating problems to Field Supervisor when necessary.
  • Enter data into Samsara system, maintain logs of calls, incidents, miles driven and more, submitting reports monthly to Field Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Operations and Field Supervisors to update and maintain a list of facility contacts.
  • Drive excellence by creating efficiencies that will reduce the arrival time for transports (under the 2-hour maximum). Report all overages to Field Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 26 years or older.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written); active listener.
  • Tech-savvy, good typing skills, and experience with data entry.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends with flexible hours as needed.
  • Operate in highly stressful situations from both internal and external sources, adapting and making decisions as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task, interpreting on-going problems and suggesting possible solutions.
  • Prior law enforcement, military, dispatch, logistics or mental health experience helpful, but not required.
