Job summary

RIDE CARE INC is seeking a Transport Driver to move clients to care facilities within and outside contracted areas. You will be the primary in-person representative, delivering excellent customer service to facility staff, clients, and families in a mental health setting.

The role requires long- and short-distance driving, meticulous log maintenance, and timely reporting of vehicle issues. The position supports operations with routing, data entry in the Samsara system, and collaboration with

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 26 years or older.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written); active listener.
  • Tech-savvy; good typing skills and experience with data entry.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends with flexible hours as needed.
  • Able to operate in highly stressful situations and make decisions as needed.
  • Prior law enforcement, military, dispatch, logistics or mental health experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Long- and short-distance driving, coordinating routes and schedules with dispatchers.
  • Retrieve and secure clients and personal belongings for trip to destination facility.
  • Maintain detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and company policies; submit monthly to Field Supervisor.
  • Ensure mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected promptly; report defects, accidents, and violations immediately.
  • Perform daily maintenance of vehicle (refueling, cleaning, snacks/water, etc.).
  • Interact with facility staff, clients, and family members in a professional manner.
  • Address problems and create solutions, collaborating with Dispatcher and elevating problems to Field Supervisor when necessary.
  • Enter data into Samsara system, maintain logs of calls, incidents, miles driven and more; submit reports monthly to Field Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Operations and Field Supervisors to update and maintain a list of facility contacts.
  • Drive excellence by creating efficiencies that will reduce the arrival time for transports (under the 2-hour maximum).
  • Report all overages to Field Supervisor.
