Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Experienced Offsite Product Designer to develop 3D models and details for offsite manufactured solutions, utilizing MCAD tools and scripting to automate routine design tasks.

The role involves collaboration with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure design integrity, compliance with codes and contractual specs, and advancement of new product development within the xPL Offsite group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering, or related field with at least 5 years' experience in manufacturing or construction.
• Experience in prefabrication, manufacturing, commercial construction industry, and construction operations.
• Proficiency in MCAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CAD Mep, Rhino, or similar).
• Familiar with coordination tools (Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360).
• Basic scripting/programming in Python, C#, VB.Net.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design product details applying DMFA principles.
• Create detailed 3D models and drawings for offsite manufactured solutions.
• Develop product subject matter expert for xPL Product Development team.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and consultants to develop product design details.
• Collaborate with engineering consultants to review product design compliance with codes and contract specifications.
• Participate in prototype testing, quality reviews, and propose enhancements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design integrity.
• Assist Offsite Manufacturing and Preconstruction teams to apply product to project applications and identify new products.
• Develop and apply scripting to automate routine design tasks.
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
