Job summary

Turner Construction is seeking an experienced engineer to develop accurate 3D models and complete fabrication-ready documentation for xPL Offsite manufactured products and applications in Chicago, IL. You will translate design intent into coordinated shop drawings and IFF packages for structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering with 5+ years in manufacturing or construction.
• Experience in prefabrication and construction operations.
• Proficiency in MCAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CAD Mep, Rhino.
• Familiar with Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, BIM360.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D models for offsite manufactured products including structural framing, mechanical piping, and electrical systems.
• Develop complete shop drawings and Issued for Fabrication (IFF) packages with views, dimensions, details, schedules, and part information.
• Coordinate interfaces between structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and manufactured product systems within federated 3D models.
• Coordinate models across 3D and manufacturing platforms (Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, Rhino).
• Apply DFMA principles to develop product details, connections, components, and assemblies.
• Model and document items such as structural members, piping, supports, cable trays, conduit, and control panels.
• Use models as primary communication tools and support fabrication, assembly, and continuous improvement.
