Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an Outside Counsel Guidelines Attorney to support engagement terms and OCGs. You will work closely with the Office of General Counsel and New Business Intake to negotiate resolutions and finalize OCGs and related materials.

The role requires a JD and an active license, with at least two years’ experience in a law firm or corporate setting. A hybrid U.S. office schedule is offered, with collaboration across multiple teams to protect the firm’s interests.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing in state where practicing.
• 2 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department; intake/contract attorney or similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial review of engagement terms, liaises with General Counsel and New Business Intake attorneys to gather information and complete OCG analysis.
• Identifies terms that require negotiation and proposes modifications.
• Coordinates with Finance, Information Governance, Information and Cyber Security, Data Privacy and Protection, HR and other teams to gather feedback and finalize terms.
• Maintains an OCG playbook and tracking systems to ensure timely resolutions.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on OCG processes and Intapp tagging of terms.
• Supports engagement letter policy compliance and disengagement efforts.
