Job summary

OEC Group, a leading freight forwarder, seeks a Sales Manager to build and lead a local sales team in the Houston area. You will expand the customer base, develop strategic plans, negotiate rates, and secure appointments with prospective clients to promote the company’s freight forwarding services.

The ideal candidate has extensive sales leadership experience in logistics, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office and CargoWise One.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in sales/business development with 1+ year in sales leadership.
• Minimum 5 years in freight forwarding/logistics/transportation industry; ocean freight preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience with CargoWise One preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the local sales team and oversee recruitment and development.
• Grow the company’s customer base by targeting local territory clients.
• Develop and execute strategic sales and business plans.
• Negotiate rates, prepare quotations, and nurture client relationships.
• Drive monthly and yearly KPI targets and secure client appointments.
• Lead by example with proactive communication and initiative.
