Job summary

OEC Group is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a local sales team in Burlingame, CA. You will recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing group focused on expanding our customer base in the local territory and delivering top-notch client service in freight forwarding.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in sales within logistics, with preference for ocean freight experience, and proficient in Microsoft Office and CargoWise One. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales/business development with at least 1 year leadership or senior sales.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry is required; ocean freight preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
• Experience using CargoWise One ERP is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the local sales team; recruit and develop the Sales team.
• Expand the company's customer base within the local territory.
• Develop and implement strategic sales and business plans.
• Negotiate rates, prepare quotations, and build client relationships.
• Pursue monthly and yearly team KPI targets and secure appointments with clients.
