Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with objective assessments and comprehensive treatment programs for patients across all ages under the supervision of a licensed OT. You will document care, administer modalities, and maintain records according to Mercy standards.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited OTA program, current licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification. Experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required and current before caring for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessments under OT supervision.
• Document patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercises, or treatments per policies.
• Maintain progress notes and department records on patient care.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of care for neonatal to geriatric age groups.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
