Job summary

The position involves designing comprehensive plans, conducting assessments, guiding transfers with safe body mechanics, and documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold an OT license in Illinois.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers occupational therapy treatment plans to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disability, and promote health.
• Designs and adjusts care plans with goals, outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Educates patients, families, and other providers using effective teaching methods.
• Provides patient transfers with safe body mechanics and ensures dignity and respect.
• Performs examinations and selects appropriate assessment methods relevant to the condition.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides feedback.
• Documents care according to department standards.
• Acts as a clinical instructor when assigned.
• Participates in team and department meetings.
