Job summary

Sheltering Arms Institute invites an Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive, patient-centered therapy in our inpatient rehab setting. The role involves exams, treatment planning, documentation, and coordinating care with the rehab team to optimize outcomes for patients aged 12 and up.

The ideal candidate will have a degree from an accredited OT program, Virginia licensure or eligibility, and CPR certification; a master’s or doctoral OT degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient rehab setting preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.

• Virginia licensure or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered occupational therapy services including patient examination (ages 12+), development and administration of treatment plans, documentation, and team communications.
• Offer clinical direction/supervision to licensed and non-licensed staff; mentor students and other team members; educate patients and caregivers.
• May rotate through clinical areas to meet patient needs.

Occupational Therapist PRN

The Occupational Therapist provides quality, comprehensive, patient-centered occupational therapy services including patient examination (ages 12+), development and administration of a treatment plan, documentation and communication with team members, and clinical direction and supervision to licensed/non-licensed personnel. Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patient and/or caregivers. May rotate through clinical areas.

Qualifications And Skills

• Experience in an inpatient rehab setting preferred.

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program required.
• Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited occupational therapy program and/or a specialty practice certification preferred.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure by the Occupational Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.

Compensation

• $55.00 per hour
• This rate reflects our commitment to pay equity and market-competitive compensation.
• Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
