Job summary

Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Float to join the inpatient team. The PT delivers patient-centered physical therapy services including examination, treatment planning, documentation, and supervision of staff.

May rotate across clinical areas to meet patient needs. Qualified candidates will have inpatient rehabilitation experience, graduate from an accredited PT program, and hold Virginia licensure or be eligible for licensure, with CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation.
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
• Doctoral degree from an accredited program and/or specialty practice certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to inpatients (ages 12+).
• Develop and administer individualized treatment plans and document progress.
• Supervise therapy staff, students, and caregivers as needed.
• May rotate through clinical areas to support inpatient and multidisciplinary care.

Qualifications and Skills

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program required.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
• Doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy programs and/or specialty practice certification preferred.

Compensation

• $38.00 - $56.00 per hour
• This range reflects our commitment to pay equity and market‑competitive compensation.
• Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
