Job summary

Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Physical Therapist PRN to join our outpatient team. The role focuses on neurological conditions and requires weekday availability to align with clinic hours.

You will perform patient examinations (ages 12+), develop and implement treatment plans, document care, and communicate with the team. You’ll also supervise staff and educate students and caregivers as needed. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program required.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
• Doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy programs and/or specialty practice certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Physical Therapist provides quality, comprehensive, patient-centered therapy services including patient examination (ages 12+), development and administration of a treatment plan, and communication with team members.
• Documentation and supervision of licensed/non-licensed personnel; instructs therapy staff, students, and caregivers.

Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Physical Therapist PRN to join the outpatient team. This position provides coverage at outpatient centers and treats primarily neurological conditions. Candidates must have weekday availability to align with our outpatient clinic hours.

The Physical Therapist provides quality, comprehensive, patient-centered physical therapy services including patient examination (ages 12+), development and administration of a treatment plan, documentation and communication with team members, and clinical direction and supervision to licensed/non-licensed personnel. Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patient and/or caregivers.

Qualifications And Skills

• Experience/expertise in outpatient rehabilitation

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program required.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
• Doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy programs and/or specialty practice certification preferred.

Compensation

• $55.00 per hour
• This rate reflects our commitment to pay equity and market‑competitive compensation.
• Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
