Job summary

Ascension is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Registered Therapist (OTR) in Cedar Park, TX, to deliver pediatric therapy at Dell Children's Medical Center. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, design and implement plans of care, and educate families for safe discharge and ongoing support.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, BLS within 30 days, and an OTR credential. A Master's or Doctorate is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills and designs the plan of care.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities; documents progress; monitors and modifies the plan; seeks consultation as needed.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about deficits; plans/discharges from therapy; provides information about adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversees care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians per regulations and standards.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s)

• Drivers License.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree OR Doctorate preferred.
