Job summary

Ascension Living is seeking a Day shift, Full-Time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Occupational Therapy department in Chattanooga, TN. You will implement established OT plans, monitor patient responses, and seek clinical guidance as needed.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Treatment Implementation & Monitoring: Executes established occupational therapy plans using targeted modalities, continuously monitoring patient response and seeking clinical consultation as needed.
• Documentation & OT Collaboration: Tracks and documents patient progress, communicating key findings and potential goal revisions directly to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Patient & Caregiver Education: Educates patients and families on deficits, adaptive equipment selection/use, community support programs, and discharge planning while providing guidance to therapy technicians in compliance with regulation standards.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (COTA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license obtained prior to hire date or job or transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
