Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking an OB Tech to support the RN team in labor and delivery. The role includes scrub tech duties, patient care tasks, and helping maintain supplies and equipment on the unit.

You will work under RN guidance to ensure patient safety and comfort across adult to neonatal age groups. The position requires night shifts (1900–0730) with weekend rotation, full-time 36 hours, and eligibility to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Preferred: CNA certification (Current certification on IDPH's health care worker registry) or completion of student nurse clinical rotation.
• Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association.
• Experience: Experience in surgery or OB strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and visitors, answer call lights and phones, and assist within the facility.
• Learn patient safe handling and assist nursing staff with ambulation, transfers, and positioning using Safe Patient Handling equipment.
• Prepare and break down sterile instruments, set up operating rooms, and perform scrub duties under RN supervision.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfers, provide room orientation, and ensure patient safety during transport.
• Complete and document patient care activities (ADL, vital signs, intake/output, weights, urine tests) under supervision; notify staff of concerns.
• Provide care companion/observer support as needed and assist with department tasks.
• Restock equipment/linens, clean equipment, and prepare items for central supply; relay test results to the nurse.
