Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Women’s Health and OB Services unit. This 0.9 FTE role includes three 12-hour night shifts per week (1900-0730) with every other weekend/holiday rotation, providing instrumental support for C-sections, vaginal births, and related patient care.

BLS and Surgical Technology program completion are required. Base pay ranges from $26.55 to $39.85 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques for prep, sterile field and instrument handling.
• Familiarity with OR equipment and room setup for various procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe operating area and assist in aseptic technique for all cases.
• Assist surgeons, pass instruments, drape and prepare the sterile field.
• Set up and transport equipment, troubleshoot equipment issues, and maintain instrument trays.
• Position and transfer patients with safe handling and assist in patient care.
• Report equipment or supply problems to the appropriate staff.
