Job summary

Berger Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Obstetrics Unit 1. The role prepares the room, assists in surgeries, maintains sterile technique, and supports the surgical team during procedures.

The position is night shift, 24 hours per week, with emphasis on readiness, patient safety, and collaboration with RN staff. Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon needs are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• CAAHEP-accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training (preferred) or 10+ years’ experience as a Surgery Technician.
• ST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare OR by obtaining supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain sterile field and deliver instruments during procedures.
• Serve as second assistant to surgeon and assist with draping and site exposure.
• Assist with specimen handling and post-procedure cleanup.
• Participate in unit operations and training of new personnel.
