Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA, is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery unit. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and maintain a sterile field under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a surgical technologist program, and at least 1 year OR experience or 3 years direct patient care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required
• Graduate from Surgical Technologist training program is required
• 1 year OR experience as Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required
• 3 years of direct patient care in a clinical setting required

He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
