Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR. You will handle instruments and supplies, anticipate surgeon needs, and help maintain a sterile field while performing patient care duties under a registered nurse's guidance.

The role requires graduation from a Surgical Technologist program, OR experience, and at least 3 years of direct patient care, with BCLS certification on hire and NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program (Required).
• 1 year OR experience as Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist (Required).
• 3 years of direct patient care in a clinical setting (Required).
• BCLS - Basic Life Support on Hire Required.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred.

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
