Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery operating room. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and help maintain a sterile field under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, clinical training in surgical technology, and current BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program is required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting is required.

• Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and maintains the sterile field.
• Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
