Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville seeks a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR. Responsibilities include handling instruments, supplies, and equipment, with a focus on maintaining a sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.

Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma, plus completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience. Prior OR experience is preferred. Employment is on-site in Cartersville, GA.

Qualifications

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
