Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a full-time Registration Clerk for the OB Unit. You will accurately complete pre-registration and help patients flow through scheduling and registration while ensuring all financial requirements are completed.

You will greet patients, check them in, update records, collect demographic data, and reconcile patient liabilities. Familiarity with Epic scheduling is desirable; strong clerical and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with scheduling evaluations, preferably in Epic, is desirable.
• 2 years clerical experience in a medical field preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collection of complete demographic, financial information and clinical orders (when applicable)
• Contact and register all patients who have scheduled procedures and visits within the center
• Update patient records, demographic and financial information
• Greet patients and check in patients into computer system and if patient is not pre-registered, complete the registration process
• Collect, process and reconcile patient liabilities
