Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a part-time Patient Registration Specialist to support admissions and front-end operations on the day shift.

You will handle pre-registration, collect copays on site, explain insurance and private pay liabilities, refer to financial counseling when needed, and ensure accurate demographic and insurance data entry with timely reconciliation of payments.

Per diem schedule, weekday coverage, with training provided to ensure smooth onboarding.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances.
• Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration of patient admissions.
• Obtain approvals and payments on site.
• Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; refer to financial counseling as needed.
• Enter/update patient demographics, insurance, and liabilities; post payments and reconcile.
