Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to support Obstetrics/Gynecology in Shelby and Rutherford locations. You will perform vital signs, patient histories, screenings, and assist with procedures under physician supervision.

The role requires lab duties, vaccine administration, and coordination of referrals while maintaining accurate records. Travel between offices is required and the schedule is Monday–Thursday 8–5 and Friday 7–2.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures and patient care.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Supports scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and proper equipment.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
