Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant in the GCMG Eastover University OBGYN clinic. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, subject to staffing needs.

Responsibilities include vitals, medications reconciliation, patient history, labs, vaccinations, scheduling, and referrals, with strong emphasis on teamwork and patient care within age-specific guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• MIL/VA-style clinical training accepted in lieu of formal MA program for certain divisions works.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings, medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling, POCT, CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Cross-trained for clinic duties within MA scope.
• Demonstrates communication, teamwork, and escalation when needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and equipment readiness.
• Provides patient-age appropriate care according to department standards.
