Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Shelby OBGYN: Kings Rutherford location. The role supports obstetrics/gynecology clinics with rooming, vitals, history taking, and screening procedures.

Must be able to travel between offices and maintain CLIA-waived testing and vaccination administration as required. This position demands collaboration with physicians and nurses, accurate documentation, and adherence to department policies while ensuring patient comfort and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of clinical MA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and department policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and lab duties (venipuncture, labeling, orders).
• Performs POCT and CLIA-waived testing per order.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of med administration.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, messaging, and charting as assigned.
