Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Maintenance/Operations Technician to provide day-to-day monitoring and basic plant and pump operations, lab tests and preventive maintenance. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with field sampling and lab analysis, and potential on-call rotation. Strong safety and teamwork required.

Qualifications

• High school or GED with ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude.
• At least five years of experience in a related position.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment and monitors conditions, logs data and follows procedures.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting and estimates time/costs.
• Inspects instruments, diagnoses issues and repairs as needed.
• Collects samples and performs field tests to pace chemical dosages.
• Performs lab tests and prepares reports on chemical and process parameters.
• Maintains and calibrates probes and sensors; ensures safe operation.
