Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to monitor and operate plant and pump stations, perform lab tests, and complete preventive and corrective maintenance. The role requires reading and interpreting instrumentation, collecting samples, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include diagnosing basic issues, performing repairs, maintaining equipment, and assisting with the orientation of new staff.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required with ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude required.
• At least five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment manually and via instrumentation panels and PLCs following procedures.
• Inspects and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
• Collects water/wastewater samples and performs field tests to adjust chemical dosages.
• Performs lab tests and prepares reports on pH, alkalinity, DO, bacteria and nutrients.
• Maintains and calibrates lab equipment and instrumentation as needed.
