Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is seeking a Supervisor - Nutrition Services to lead daily Food Services activities in line with our Mission and Guiding Behaviors.

You will supervise staff, coordinate scheduling, provide orientation and coaching, and ensure safe, high-quality meals for patients and customers while modeling service excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree in Food Service or related work experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sanitation Certification Course or ServSafe within 6 months of hire.
• Experience: 3–5 years supervisory experience in a foodservice operation.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards and leads by example in friendliness, courtesy, and professional service.
• Promotes a Culture of Safety by following policies to prevent injuries or adverse outcomes for associates and patients.
• Coordinates daily staffing and provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff; assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Leads handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

supervises daily staff activities for Food Services

What you'll do:

• Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see. For example: demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service.
• Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

What we're looking for:

• Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree(GED)
• Associate's Degree in Food Service or related work experience preferred
• Licensure / Certification: Completion of Sanitation Certification Course or ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience: Prefer three to five years supervisory experience in a foodservice operation.
