Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, a proud member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Supervisor - Nutrition Services to oversee daily staff activities for Food Services. You will lead a team to ensure high-quality patient meals and efficient service in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching, and resolving issues, while promoting a Culture of Safety and service excellence. Requirements: high school diploma or GED, food service supervision experience, and sanitation or ServSafe

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s Degree in Food Service or related work experience preferred.
• Licensure: Sanitation/ServSafe certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience: 3–5 years supervisory experience in a foodservice operation.

About the job:

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Supervisor - Nutrition Services supervises daily staff activities for Food Services

What you’ll do:

• Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see. For example: demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service.
• Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

What we’re looking for:

• Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree(GED)
• Associate’s Degree in Food Service or related work experience preferred
• Licensure / Certification: Completion of Sanitation Certification Course or ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience: Prefer three to five years supervisory experience in a foodservice operation.
