Job summary

Village Healthcare Rehab is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to direct the operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. You will ensure high-quality nutritional services, maintain a clean and safe department, and manage department personnel and budget.

The role requires supervisory experience, cost-control training, and a dietary-related certification or education aligned with state requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility.
• Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
• Certification as a Dietary Manager or Food Service Manager; or an Associate’s degree or higher in food service management/hospitality and state requirements met.
• TB test clear from hire; read/write/speak English.
• Ability to make independent decisions and interact tactfully with staff, residents, families, and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Dietary Department and its activities.
• Coordinate dietary services with Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, and others.
• Maintain written dietary policies and procedures and assess residents’ dietary needs.
• Develop menus, diet plans, and standard recipes; ensure compliance with physician orders.
• Inspect storage areas, inventory, and compliance with sanitation standards.
• Participate in facility surveys and respond with action plans as needed.
• Assist discharge planning with dietary considerations and support resident satisfaction.
