Job summary

Episcopal Children’s Services, Inc. seeks a Substitute Teacher to foster a warm, nurturing classroom where children aged birth to 5 years develop language, cognitive, social, and emotional skills.

You will support scheduled activities, reinforce the approved curriculum, and assist with daily operations in a Florida ECS4Kids program. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with DCF 45-hour training and prior child care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DCF 45-hour training preferred.
• Experience in a child care setting preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Become the Primary Caregiver/Teacher when the regular teacher is absent.
• Familiarize self with the day’s planned activities.
• Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate activities for each child.
• Provide a warm, nurturing environment and uphold discipline policies.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable standards and policies.
• Follow medical/dental procedures and safe-handling of medications.
• Ensure safety and proper sanitation in the classroom and center.
• Collaborate with families and staff through effective communication.
