Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide a warm, nurturing environment for children ages birth to 5 years, in Florida classrooms. You will step in as Primary Caregiver when needed and help implement the approved curriculum while maintaining safety and healthy routines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, DCF 45-hour training, and a willingness to engage with families and staff. Training and compliance are essential, with opportunities across multiple centers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; DCF 45-hour training preferred.
• Experience in a child care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Ability to implement approved curriculum.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Becoming Primary Caregiver/Teacher when a regular teacher is absent.
• Familiarize with day’s planned activities.
• Assist in developmentally appropriate activities for each child.
• Provide a warm, nurturing environment and use positive guidance.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social-emotional growth.
• Follow standards and accreditation requirements and policies.
• Follow medical/dental emergency procedures and medication handling.
• Maintain safety and prevent injuries.
• Maintain sanitation and participate in center upkeep.
• Communicate with families and encourage parent involvement.
• Eat with children and model healthy eating habits.
• Follow infant feeding schedules and assist infant care as needed.
• Collaborate with staff; attend meetings and trainings.
