Job summary

SBH Health System in New York is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Nursing Staffing Office and ensure nursing personnel are available to meet patient-care needs across the organization.

The role collaborates with Nursing Leadership, HR, Finance and clinical departments to maintain safe, efficient staffing, monitor levels, identify gaps, facilitate coverage, and maintain scheduling records, escalating issues to Nursing Administration as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in healthcare administration, business, human resources, or related field preferred.
• Previous healthcare or hospital experience preferred.
• Experience in staffing, scheduling, workforce management, payroll, or administrative roles preferred.
• Experience in a hospital Nursing Staffing Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of the Nursing Staffing Office and ensure nursing personnel are available to meet patient-care needs across the organization.
• Collaborate with Nursing Leadership, Nursing Supervisors, Nurse Managers/Directors, Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and clinical departments to maintain safe, efficient staffing.
• Monitor staffing levels across all nursing units, identify current and anticipated staffing gaps, facilitate replacement coverage, and maintain accurate staffing and scheduling records.
• Escalate unresolved staffing concerns to Nursing Administration.

Education
