Job summary

Valley View Manor in New York state is seeking a Staffing Scheduler for the Nursing Department. The primary responsibility is to create and facilitate the schedule of all Licensed and Certified Nursing Assistant staff, in monthly increments, based on ratios set by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.

You will coordinate vacations, prepare daily breakdown sheets, provide weekly payroll lists, reconcile payroll with the master schedule, and assist with hiring and orientation of new staff

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care scheduling.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Computer skills helpful.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly time schedule for all Licensed and Certified Nursing Assistant Staff.
• Distribute monthly schedule to Nursing Supervisor’s Office and attach to paper.
• Submit weekly list to Payroll for sick, holiday, and vacation time used by Nursing Department staff.
• Reconcile weekly payroll printout with Master Schedule.
• Communicate with the Director of Nurses or designee for overtime approval.
• Ensure overtime and Payroll Exception forms are authorized.
• Produce daily Breakdown sheets from Master Schedule per unit/shift.
• Maintain Master Schedule and Attendance files for reference.
• Facilitate day-to-day shift changes due to call outs or leave of absence.
• Track tardy and attendance for disciplinary action.
• Work with ADNS/Staff Development/ICN for coordination.
