Job summary

Jersey College is seeking an experienced Nursing Instructor to provide high-quality instruction and clinical education for LPN/PN and RN students across classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical settings.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN or higher, an active RN license, at least 3 years of clinical practice, and a passion for teaching. Responsibilities include evaluating student performance, maintaining records, and collaborating with faculty and clinical partners.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher nursing degree.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent professional RN experience.
• Clinical experience relevant to the nursing courses and clinical experiences being taught.
• Experience with teaching or education preferred.
• Experience with LMS and educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical instruction to LPN/PN and RN nursing students, as assigned.
• Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters students' academic growth and professional development.
• Deliver effective instruction appropriate to the educational level and needs of students.
• Supervise students in the clinical environment and promote safe, professional nursing practice.
• Evaluate student performance and clinical competence based on program philosophy, objectives, policies, and established standards.
• Prepare accurate and timely student progress reports and grade reports.
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
• Provide students with appropriate guidance, feedback, and support to promote successful learning outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge and expertise within the nursing specialty and clinical practice environment.
• Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and other required academic or campus meetings.
• Maintain professional qualifications through continuing education, in-service training, and academic coursework as appropriate.
• Collaborate effectively with faculty, administration, clinical partners, and other members of the academic community.
