Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Clinical Professional Development Specialist to lead education and orientation for the Birthing & Mother Infant Unit. You will oversee competency programs, mentor staff, and drive evidence-based nursing practice across the division.

The role emphasizes adult learning, collaboration with physicians and nurses, and ongoing professional development, including Transition to Practice initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive nursing experience in designated clinical services area.
• RN licensure with required certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC).
• Adult learning principles and evidence-based practice knowledge expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage educational programs for the nursing division.
• Lead onboarding/orientation, competency management, and professional development activities.
• Promote evidence-based practice and research integration at the point of care.
• Mentor staff, collaborate with inter-professional teams, and lead educational initiatives.
