Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Professional Development Specialist (PDS), a self-directed RN with advanced knowledge in clinical education. The PDS acts as educator, change agent, researcher, servant leader and mentor within the department, based on practice population needs.

Responsibilities include standards of practice, assessment of practice gaps, identifying learning needs, planning, implementation, evaluation, and ethics in education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• RN license in state of employment.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development within 2 years.
• BLS required; ACLS for critical care; NRP for perinatal.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding new hires with orientation and learning styles.
• Coordinate preceptor development and staff education events.
• Provide ongoing staff education and competency assessment.
• Lead professional development initiatives and mentorship.
