Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network seeks a Professional Development Specialist (PDS), a self-directed RN with advanced clinical knowledge to lead education, mentorship, and practice improvement within our nursing staff. The PDS serves as educator, change agent, researcher, and leader in a collaborative care setting.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in applicable state.
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development within 2 years.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications as required.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: Communicate with new employees and plan orientation.
• Diagnosis: Collaborate with Clinical Manager on learning needs.
• Identification of Educational Outcomes: Prepare competency-based orientation.
• Planning: Schedule orientation and assign preceptors.
• Implementation: Lead classroom and unit-based education activities.
• Evaluation: Monitor progress and update orientation content as needed.
• Leadership: Demonstrate leadership, mentor peers, and develop staff.
• Professional Development: Support growth and certification for staff.
