Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN required within 3 years of hire; MSN preferred.
• RN Licensure in Texas required.
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience; hospital experience preferred.
• One year of formal teaching experience or nursing professional development preferred.
• Certification in nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS; ACLS instructor credentials encouraged.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Must become BLS and ACLS Instructor within 24 months.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Address staff competency and unit education strategies.
• Evaluate educational needs and deliver education to develop professional skills.
• Plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate clinical education activities and resources.
• Participate in hospital policy/procedure development.
• Maintain open communication with licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Lead day-to-day training of nurses in the unit.
