Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a responsible RN II for a PRN day shift within the Nursing & Education division. You will supervise the patient care team, coordinate plans of care, educate patients and staff, and collaborate with other disciplines while delivering direct patient care across age groups.

Required are a Texas (or Compact) RN license, BLS/ACLS, and hospital experience. Evening or weekend work may be required; strong communication and computer skills are preferred to support

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time hospital-based nursing experience.
• Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes facility mission, vision and values in services and practice.
• Performs comprehensive physical, emotional, and psychosocial patient assessments.
• Initiates and updates the plan of care with sound clinical judgment.
• Delivers teaching to patients and staff; coordinates care with other disciplines.
• Administers medications and treatments per the care plan.
• Maintains proper lines of communication and documentation.
• Attends staff meetings and meets CE requirements; adheres to dress code.

Education

Registered Nurse license TX or Compact

BSN preferred

BLS & ACLS Certification

PALS & TNCC (if required)

Computer skills

Good written & verbal communication

Evening/weekend availability
