Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide compassionate care in a critical care recovery setting inside Methodist University in Memphis, TN. The role involves helping patients with bathing, hygiene, feeding, rounds, and safe transport, while supporting clean, orderly rooms and proper equipment handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, CNA certification, or related field preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less methods and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Assist with hourly rounds and transport patients as needed.
• Move patients on stretchers or wheelchairs and help staff with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments, bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked with supplies as directed.

Schedule: PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour shiftsCompensation: $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin‑less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
