Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis East is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to join the team in Memphis, TN. This PRN/Per Diem role offers 12-hour shifts and an hourly rate of $19, with exposure to a high-acuity patient population in a critical illness recovery setting.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will perform foundational patient care, participate in rounds, and help ensure a safe, clean environment while supporting patient comfort and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Hospital experience as Nursing Assistant or related field.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less products and providing oral care.
• Participate in hourly rounds with patients.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked; assist with supplies as directed.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
