Job summary

Select Medical’s nursing assistant position at Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is a full-time night shift. The role provides comprehensive orientation and advancement opportunities, including RN scholarship and tuition reimbursement, with a strong focus on patient care and teamwork in a 44,000-strong national organization.

Responsibilities include bathing, rounds, patient transport, and equipment maintenance in a post-ICU care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is required or equivalent work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience as a nursing assistant, or certification as a nursing assistant, or related field experience (e.g. medical assistant, RN student).

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assistant tasks: bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist mobility of patients.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments/equipment and patient rooms.
• Manage unit stock levels of supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Full-Time Nights - 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Compensation: $17.50 to $21.33 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned
