Job summary

Advocate South Suburban Hospital is seeking a part-time Nurse Aide to assist the nursing team in daily patient care. The role includes helping with hygiene, feeding, mobility and monitoring, while documenting in the EMR and reporting changes to the RN.

Shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend and holiday rotation, 24 hours per week. Requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification; on-the-job training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/HSED required with annual hospital certifications.
• Knowledge of EMR systems and patient data entry.
• Clear communication and organizational abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding and mobility.
• Record vitals (BP, temp, pulse, respiration) and inputs/outputs.
• Document in EMR and communicate observations to RN promptly.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge workflows and room setup.
• Collect specimens as assigned and perform point-of-care testing per protocol.
• Manage supplies, transport tasks and maintain clean work areas.
• Assist with positioning and skin care per patient needs.
