Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Nursing Float Pool at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. The role supports RNs with daily patient care, documentation, and room preparation in a 0.6 FTE, day-shift setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED/HSED, state Nurse Aide registration, and BLS to be obtained within 45 days. Strong communication and EMR skills are essential for patient safety and care coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HSED required; hospital certifications may be required and must be maintained.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry; BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 45 days.
• Strong communication, basic computer, and organizational skills are essential to support patient care and EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, mobility) and use of assistive devices.
• Record and document vital signs, I&O, daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes and room setup under RN supervision.
• Collect urine/stool/sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Maintain stocking, clean equipment, and assist with patient positioning and transfers.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and ensure safety and comfort.
