Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Nursing Float Pool. This full-time day shift position requires a high school diploma or GED/HSED and certification readiness; 36 hours per week with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include assisting RNs with daily patient care, documenting vital signs in the EMR, and supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges under RN supervision. BLS and state Nurse Aide registration must be obtained within 45 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Good organizational abilities and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding and mobility.
• Document vital signs and patient data in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and support routine point-of-care testing as needed.
